Steven discovered at an early age that he had an aptitude for drawing and a joy for the creative process. Originally from Lake Charles, LA, he pursued his art career in Lafayette, LA as a fine art painter, illustrator, and graphic designer until moving to Donaldsonville, LA in 2004. Steven and his wife Cynthia owned and operated Schneider Art Gallery, as well as The Grapevine Café & Gallery in Donaldson. In 2014, they moved to Goshen, AR where Steven established his new studio and continues to experiment and refine different ways to document his ideas.
“My work is greatly influenced by the natural world and draws inspiration from the color harmonies, values and shape relationships that exist in nature. The subjects chosen resonate a personal experience to me and are of a familiar spirit. They serve to satisfy my need for image making as well as documenting a place in time. My process includes referencing plein air studies and sketches and the use of photography with digital manipulation.” – Steven Schneider
Steven’s work has been included in the Delta Exhibition at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Art in Little Rock and is held in numerous public and private collections, including the corporate offices for George’s Inc in Springdale, AR; Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, LA; Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA; and Belle Alliance Plantation in Belle Rose, LA.
