Cynthia Bowers has been creating in clay for more than thirty years. Her recent works include mixed media sculptures and wall hangings.
Commenting about her work, Bowers states, “Some people are more comfortable with old, familiar things and shapes. Some are attracted to the unconventional. I try to I incorporate both aspects, in my own style, in my work.”
Bowers studied with various 20th Century clay masters including Paul Soldner, Peter Voulkos, Akio Takamuri, Robin Hopper and the well known Northwest potter, Betty Feves. The clay and mixed media sculptures by Cynthia Bowers reside in numerous personal and corporate fine art collections across the country. Within the state, executives from Arkansas’ most respected firms proudly display major works of this highly collected Hot Springs artist. These companies include Stephens,Inc., Regions Bank, Acxiom, UAMS, Donrey Media, Entergy, Coulson Oil Company, Baptist Medical Center, and Stone & Ward.
